My Cuban-born husband and I have 6 kids (ages 18 - 36) and 6 grandkids (ages 4 mos - 7 years). Hubby is a firefighter / paramedic in Miami.
I have been working since I was 15. I have been many things: waitress, model, singer, grain trader, accountant, daycare provider, teacher, professor, writer, speaker, dean, and executive.
I am most proud of founding a school for homeless children and serving as the Commissioner of Education for Minnesota.
I am an avid traveler who has been to every state and 68 countries. I play piano and flute, dance the Argentine Tango and salsa with my hubby, and I paint for relaxation. For excitement I SCUBA dive and downhill ski.
I am proud to have met Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush each when he was in office. I met another president too, Nothing to brag about there.
